Welcome to San Bruno AYSO! San Bruno AYSO is open to all boys and girls aged 4 to 18. San Bruno AYSO consists of over 1300 players and a host of volunteers, including more than 150 coaches, over 50 referees, plus people responsible for fields, schedules, permits, uniforms, equipment, and everything else involved in safe, fair, and fun soccer for kids. For more information call (650) 873-AYSO (2976)
Fall 2008 season registration update The last of our drop-in registration sessions for the fall 2008 season was held at the San Bruno Recreation Center on Sunday, June 1st. You may still register your child for the fall 2008 season; however, the early bird registration fees no longer apply and the process will require that you work directly through our league registrar. Click here for more information on the registration process, which you’ll need to follow after June 1st. Players will be placed on teams subject to the availability of a sufficient number of trained volunteer coaches and referees within each age group division. We are looking for additional volunteer coaches and referees in many of our age groups, so please attach a note to your child’s registration form if you can help in either role. During our fall season, games are played in San Bruno on Saturdays (Under-5 program is a weeknight program) from September through mid-November and teams practice one to two times per week, starting in August. The league is open to youth soccer players of all ability levels, from ages 4 through 18 (must turn 4, or not turn 19, by July 31, 2008). We also offer a VIP soccer program, giving children throughout San Mateo County with physical or mental disabilities the chance to play soccer on Saturdays during the season (Click here for more information on our VIP program). Our league is fully run by many volunteers, which is a primary reason why we can keep our registration fees so low (Click here for fee information). But we need more volunteers at all levels! In particular, we need volunteer coaches, referees, team parents and program support staff. We will be limiting the number of teams this year in many of our age groups to the number of trained volunteer coaches and referees. So volunteer today at one of our registration sessions and, with only a small time commitment on your part, we'll provide the training at no charge! __________________________ San Bruno AYSO Summer Soccer Day Camp to be held from July 28-August 1st Our annual AYSO/UK International Soccer Camp will be held July 28 - August 1, 2008 at the Crestmoor soccer fields in San Bruno. Last year, over 70 youth soccer players attended the camp. The camp offers half day (9 A.M. -12:00) and full day (9 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.) programs for soccer players from ages 4 to 16. You can register on line for the camp by accessing the camp's website at http://www.uksocca.com/AYSO_Flyer.asp?CID=7419 __________________________ San Bruno AYSO “Summer Kicks” Soccer to be held the last three weeks in June Our traditional “Summer Kicks” soccer program is a great way for our younger soccer players (from 5 to 11 years of age) to work on their soccer skills in a fun, game-oriented environment. Last year, over 150 kids participated in the program, which is held on 6 weeknights (Tuesdays and Thursdays) over the last three weeks in June. The camp is held at the Crestmoor soccer fields in San Bruno from 6:00-7:30 in the evening on the following dates: June 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26. The cost of the program is $25 per player, with each player receiving their own soccer ball and Summer Kicks Tee-shirt. You can register your child for Summer Kicks at any of our regular May and June 2008 drop-in registration sessions (see dates above) at the San Bruno Recreation Center. __________________________ Our league is fully run by volunteers. None of our coaches, referees, league board members and other league volunteers receive any money for the time that they devote in support of the league and your children during the season and in the months leading up to the start of the fall season. If there’s an area of our league you’d like to be involved with in the future as a volunteer—coach, referee, field and facility improvements, field set up, registration, finances, training, scheduling, publications, promotions, special events, summer camps, snack bar, administration--please leave a message on our 873-AYSO message center and let us know how you’d like to help. And just remember that some of our most accomplished league volunteers were only exposed to soccer later in life and have used our volunteer training and mentoring programs to fill in key knowledge gaps. So please do your best to volunteer where you can! __________________________ To access on line AYSO training for coaches, referees and other volunteers, including Safe Haven training, Click Here |
